THE AFRICAN TREE

Meet the Family Behind The African Tree

The African Tree LLC is a family-owned African grocery business founded by Mrs. Zinnah Hamid with a vision of bringing authentic African foods, flavors, and everyday essentials to Mechanicsburg and the wider Central Pennsylvania community.

For Zinnah and his family, The African Tree is about more than opening a grocery store. It is about creating a welcoming place where African families can find familiar ingredients from home, students can access the foods they know and love, and anyone interested in African cuisine can discover authentic new flavors.

Our goal is simple: make it easier to find the foods you know and love while introducing new customers to the incredible diversity of African cuisine.

A Taste of Home. A Place for Community.

Finding the right African ingredients shouldn't mean searching multiple stores or traveling long distances.

The African Tree LLC is being created to serve African immigrant households, African students, multicultural families, and food lovers throughout Central Pennsylvania who appreciate authentic ingredients and culturally familiar products.
